2011 JAKEe Convertible Camaro Prototype

2011 JAKEe Convertible Camaro Prototype

Hi Everybody!!!

As some of you know, when I was in high-school, I wanted to go onto become an automotive engineer, but I could not get myself to do it, because at the time, and we are talking mid 1980s, American auto design was at an all-time low.

This was a very big disappointment to me, and I have never liked or desired to own an American car in my life. That is until I first saw an early prototype of the all-new Chevy Camaro Concept Convertible.

I went and test drove the 2010 hardtop (not pictured) Chevy SS V-8 Camaro, and it completely blew my mind!!! Not only was it like driving a rocket-ship, but it also handled like a dream. The all new Camaro SS V8 muscle car does 0-60 MPH in only 4.5 Seconds, which is just perfect if you ask me.

Like many other Camaro enthusiasts, I have been patiently awaiting the announcement of the all-new Chevy Camaro convertible and it seems like it has been an eternity. I first saw spy photos of it several years ago, and just two days ago, on the Camaro5.com forum, they showed off these four spy shots of the car being tested. Well kind of.

The challenge was the photos they showed were of a red Camaro, and I want a dark Cobalt blue, with a touch of purple (if you are old enough, think Duncan Yo-Yo). I also want the white racing stripes I designed, and I also want to powder-coat the brake calipers in red. I also think it would be cool to put the JAKEe logo on the hood.

Since I am an advanced graphic artist, I decided to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to custom paint the car. I did this because I was extremely curious to see what my next actual car is going to look like. According to Camaro5.com Chevy will start producing convertible Camaro's in January or March of 2011 and I can't wait!!!!

I think the all-new Camaro convertible is the best looking car I have ever seen, and as an American, I very happy to see American cars making a strong comeback.

I included the following video that shows how General Motors is going to have an iPhone application that allows you to use your phone as a key!!! This is so cool!!!
