The brand new 2010 Aston Martin Vantage V12 will officially debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week, but here’s a sneak peak at this sleek beast. The basic gist of the new Vantage? Take a powerful V12 like the one found in the DBS and jam it into a light, aerodynamic coupe the size of the V8 Vantage. The result of this combination is an engine that puts out 510 hp to power the coupe 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. Impressive, but the engine output falls short of the projected concept by about 90 hp. The V12 Vantage also boasts a 190mph top speed.
To make sure all of that power is put to the ground, Aston Martin selected Pirelli P-Zero Corsas as the original equipment radials. The P-Zero Corsa is a DOT-legal competition tire that is used mostly for high-performance and race track applications. A special combination of high hysteresis tread compound and a directional tread pattern ensure that horsepower is transfered efficiently without sacrificing lateral stability and cornering grip. The Pirelli tires are a great choice, if you ask us.
In addition to what’s under the hood, there are plenty of aerodynamic components and lightweight materials on the new Vantage which have contributed to a 64 percent reduction in total vehicle lift. For drivers who want to shed as much weight as possible, the option to have kevlar and carbon-fiber seats can subtract nearly 40 lbs from the total vehicle weight. Look for the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage next week at the Geneva auto show for more official specs, and look for an extra $200,000+ in your bank account if you plan on picking up the new model!
