Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Design Process video find image 5 300x187 imageAfter determining whether a new vehicle segment is right for the brand, Porsche designers set out to build a sports car in that segment – even with a wagon. The designers pay special attention to proportions, particularly to the height-width ratio to give it the sporty look inspired by the 911 coupe.

Up front, the designers gave the “Sport Turismo the same elevated front fender wings found on the Panamera and 911 as well as a large front air intake. The rear of the Sport Turismo challenged designers as all other Porsche models from the 911 to Pamamera have similar profiles. After overcoming several challenges on the clay model, the team moves on to the hard model where they can add more details and optimize the forms.

The team then works on the interior and production car details before moving onto the real production show car.
